PNHF Protects Wildlife through our Anti-Poaching Conservation Efforts

Based in Phalaborwa, South Africa, the Phalaborwa Natural Heritage Foundation (PNHF) is a non-profit Company, Education Centre and Volunteer Program (NPC registration 2020/872513/08).

Situated on the border of Kruger National Park, Phalaborwa is the only town to have a gate into this famous natural attraction within the town limits. It is also surrounded by private nature reserves and other protected areas.

PNHF focuses on assisting these reserves with anti-poaching and conservation activities including, snare removal, animal rescues and relocations, data collection and research, environmental education and community outreach projects.

Our work would not be possible without the help of partners such as LEDET (Limpopo Economic Development Environmental Affairs and Tourism), EWT (Endangered Wildlife Trust), Elephants Alive, Down to the Wire as well as our fantastic local veterinarians.

PNHF is a 100% voluntary organisation, and we rely on our loyal volunteers to forego their weekends to join us on snare sweeps and other educational and cleanup operations.

The Phalaborwa Natural Heritage Foundation frequently frees animals trapped in snares that are found during our regular snare sweeps, as well as assisting in the capturing and relocation of animals who's lives are at risk due to Human-Wildlife Conflict. We are excited to announce that with the help of all our supporters, we have reached this goal and our new PNHF Rescue Vehicle has been acquired!
